Class Dates: October 15th – December 13th, 2020
Ballet and French Language Reinforcement: Thursdays at 5:30 – 6:30 pm ET
Ballet Technique Class: Sundays at 12 – 1 pm ET
Make Up Day: TBA
Fall Break: November 23rd – 29th
French Immersion Ballet Program
Classical ballet utilizes French terminology. Students taking ballet are already engaging with the French language, making the combining of the two very natural. Understanding the meaning of the French terms used in ballet will help dancers connect with the movements. In turn, implementing movement and rhythm into language learning is very complimenting to the retention and grasping of that language. By immersing students 100% in French and ballet we are setting a strong foundation for them to acquire these skills organically.
French Language and Ballet Reinforcement Sessions
This session is meant to aid students in their French and ballet learning. It offers an opportunity to slow down both the language and dance curriculum in order to elaborate on and prepare for the activities in the ballet class. This class will include a variety of activities such as stretching, dancing, games and slide presentations in order to reinforce the program curriculum.
Classical Ballet Technique Class
Our Classical Ballet Technique class is structured to teach the technical aspects of ballet. The simultaneous engagement with language and dance creates a uniquely supportive method of learning! This is both a structured and creative class. Students will have the opportunity to use their mind and imagination while working through a planned curriculum.
