Meet Our Teachers

 

Guyonn: Language and Ballet Technique
 
Guyonn is from Picardie, France.  Upon graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (France) in classical Ballet, she joined the Ballet de Lorraine (East of France) for the 2014-2015 season, before being invited to join the Martha Graham Dance Company in NYC. She toured extensively around Europe, Asia and America while a member of the company. She then returned to classical repertoire as a dancer of NewYork Theatre Ballet. There she approached the Cecchetti technique alongside some repertoire from Nijinski, Tudor, Alston, De Mille. Afterwards she had the opportunity to join Robert Swinston’s cast of M.Cunningham “Biped”, that toured internationally during the 2018-2019 season. After a year with Sydney Dance Company PPY, she joined the Montreal based Ballet company Cas Public for the 2021-2022 season. 
Guyonn has taught ballet and Graham around the world, both in person and online! She currently works with international dance companies, choreographers and tours internationally.  
 
She is very excited to share her knowledge in both languages that are dance and French !

 

Chloé: French Language and Composition 
 
Chloé was born in Lorraine, France. She trained in ballet, jazz and
contemporary in Paris under the direction of Corinne Lanselle before joining the CobosMika Junior Company, based in Spain, with which she performed and toured through Spain, France and Germany. In 2019, Chloé moved to Israel to take part in
the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company MASA program. While she was there she extensively trained in Ohad Naharin’s Gaga technique which has greatly influenced her movement language. Since moving to Virginia in 2021, she has had the
opportunity to work, perform and choreograph with various companies and projects throughout the DC area.
 
Chloé holds a Master’s degree in linguistics and American literature from Sorbonne Nouvelle University and a Certificate for Teaching French as a Foreign Language from Grenoble-Alpes University. She is excited to share her passion for dance and
languages with the Immersion Ballet students. 
 
 

Hannah: Ballet & Language Reinforcement / Pas de Deux: Parent and Me

 

Hannah is  from Massachusetts. She currently dances with her university’s dance company. Her performance repertoire includes Alice in Wonderland, The Nutcracker, Coppelia, The Four Seasons, and a Midsummer Night’s Dream. Hannah has competed in a variety of dance styles and has also choreographed. She is very excited to be teaching here at Immersion Ballet.  

 

Rebekah: Creative Movement

 
Rebekah is a Wisconsin native and third year university student, double majoring in both Ballet and French! Rebekah trained at the Milwaukee Ballet School and Academy where she joined the trainee program her final year of high school. She has also danced alongside the Milwaukee Ballet II in multiple performances. Recently, Rebekah had the opportunity to study abroad in Paris, France where she was able to further her studies in both dance and the French language. Rebekah is so excited to be part of the Immersion Ballet team and would like to say Enchantée et à bientôt! 

 

Emily: Washington D.C. In-PersonBallet & Language Reinforcement 

 

Emily is originally from Tennessee, where she trained at Nashville Ballet and Dance South Performing Arts. In addition to her regular training at home she also participated in summer intensives at Atlanta Ballet and the Tennessee Governor’s School. In university Emily continued dancing as a member of an academic dance company and began teaching full time. Earlier this year Emily had the chance to live in France. Now she is back in the states and can not wait to share her love for French and dance with Immersion Ballet students in Washington D.C.!

 

 Abby: Class Assistant

Abby is from Illinois and has spent several years training/ performing in the Chicago area. In addition, Abby has choreographed works for dance companies. She has been devoted to studying the French Language and is very excited to combine her two passions here at Immersion Ballet! 

Sarah: Dance Intern 

Sarah is from New Jersey and is minoring in French at a Washington D.C. university.  She is excited to combine her passion for both dance and French as a member of the  Immersion Ballet team!
